Welcome from The President
Welcome to the Houston Professionals of the National Society of Black Engineers! We are thrilled to lead the 2023-2024 calendar year as a team, with the goal of fulfilling the overall mission of NSBE and the objectives set by the National Board.
The NSBE Mission is to increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community. Our chapter is committed to this mission through our Programs Zone, which features a range of initiatives such as Professional Development Workshops, Outreach, NSBE Jr programs and Collegiate programs. Our Comms Zone is dedicated to keeping all members informed on past and upcoming events and programs, while our Membership Zone works hard to increase and manage chapter membership.
It's my pleasure to serve as your President this season as we execute this year's agenda. I appreciate your dedicated participation and continued support.

FLAGSHIP PROGRAMS
Our flagship programs, held annually, stand as pivotal events in fulfilling the NSBE mission. Through these initiatives, our aim is to propel progress, instigate positive change, and leave a tangible impact within both the Program Zone and the wider community.

Fresh Start, a cornerstone program occurring in both the Spring and Fall seasons, allows NSBE Houston to engage with a diverse range of students and provide continuous STEM skills development throughout the year.

Each year, we proudly award scholarships to deserving students majoring in STEM fields. In the previous year, we were thrilled to grant $30,000 in scholarships, and this year, our ambition is to raise and donate $50,000. Our steadfast commitment to supporting education aligns closely with the organization's mission and goals.
Fresh Start
NSBE Fresh Start consists of interactive STEM workshops that creatively engage students, ranging from 3rd to 12th grade, to explore the many different disciplines in the field of engineering. The main goal of NSBE Fresh Start is to motivate children to set academic goals in STEM.
Scholarship Gala
Our primary goal is to provide financial assistance to students who demonstrate academic merit but face financial barriers to pursuing higher education. By offering scholarships, we aim to ensure that talented individuals have equal opportunities to access quality education.
