Oliver Nwofia is the Vice President  for NSBE Houston Professionals and leads/manages all aspects of membership engagement and retention, including being responsible for directing, coordinating, and monitoring chapter development.

 

Oliver is a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Project Manager, Scrum Master and Design Thinker who holds a doctorate degree from the University of Houston, an MBA from Kellogg, Northwestern University, and a masters degree from Harvard Medical School

 

Oliver currently works in the construction industry, having spent more than 5 years at CEMEX as an operational excellence executive where he is responsible for driving a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

 

Oliver’s goal this year in his position as Vice President and Chair of the Membership Zone, is to increase membership engagement, improve chapter benefits and make strategic partnerships.

 

Oliver has been a member of NSBE for over two years, and what endears NSBE  to him is the mission of the NSBE "to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community."

 

In his spare time, Oliver enjoys volunteering, traveling, spending time with his family, and is an avid sports fan.
