Amandi Rhett is the Membership Co-Chair for NSBE Houston Professionals and coordinates all aspects of membership, including, managing membership database and planning of membership events.
Amandi is a Licensed/Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist, who holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master’s of Science degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics from Baylor College of Medicine.
Amandi works at Shriners Hospitals for Children Houston in the Prosthetics and Orthotics department since January 2017. Amandi evaluates, fabricates, and fits patients with custom prosthetics (artificial limbs) and orthotics, (orthopedic bracing) according to their needs. Prior to her Master’s degree, Amandi worked as an HVAC Mechanical design engineer at a consulting firm in Atlanta,GA for 8 years.
Amandi’s goals this year as Membership Co-Chair is to execute chapter requirements and deadlines related to the position of membership chair in a timely manner, brainstorming and presenting new ideas to the board for the recruitment and retention of members, and keeping meticulous and organized records for speedy access to statistics.
Amandi has been a member of NSBE for two years. What makes NSBE great to her is the organizations dedication to promoting interest in STEM and supporting STEM professionals throughout their careers.
In her/his spare time, Amandi enjoys working out, spending time with family and friends, and attending church and other social activities around the city.
